Lebanon, OR (June 19, 2006)...At a press conference on May 18, 2006 at company headquarters in Lebanon, OR, ENTEK demonstrated new technology that allows the highest throughput capabilities ever achieved on the company’s 53mm twin-screw extrusion equipment. ENTEK engineers will be on hand at NPE 2006 to discuss this latest development with fiber and wood-plastic composites suppliers. Information on the demonstration is listed below:

    Wood-Plastic Composite Formula:
  • HDPE: 30-40 wt %
  • 60 mesh Wood Flour: 40-60 wt %
  • Undried Wood Flour Moisture: 4-12 wt%
  • Additive/Filler: 4-15 wt%

    Actual Production Rate:
  • 1,600 lbs/hr for decking profile extrusion (previous maximum throughput estimated at 1,200 lbs/hr)

  • 25% more throughput via new screw and process technology for more effective wood mixing and moisture removal
